Maurice Couture

Tourism Development Strategist

Young dad (yes!), despite 35 years of experience in tourism, especially in the resort, adventure, ecotourism and cruise sectors. I consider myself lucky and “bon vivant”. I always try to see the bright side of things and people. I’m studying to become a Qi gong teacher and I was practicing Aikido before Covid. I am passionate about the energy in and around us - the Qi.

I share the love of travel, from the planning stage to the on-site experience, which is also part of my job as a tourism consultant. Going out onto the field and meeting people who are passionate about their site or destination are two of the most stimulating aspects.  Seeing first-hand, immersing yourself in the context, putting yourself in the client's shoes, it helps to better direct the efforts of a mandate.

As a consultant, there is of course a Cartesian aspect to market, data and competition analysis, but there is also the human aspect which is very rewarding: co-creation with the client; animation of groups to bring out collective ideas or solutions; presentation and feedback on the results at the end of a mandate; participants satisfaction from meetings; customer loyalty. So many rewarding and stimulating steps. What I like the most in every mandate: sustainable development, innovation and the search for inspiring models that give us ambitions. I tend to follow my instincts - I call it my "enlightened instinct" - based on both reflections and experience.
