Lightkeeper - Tourism Intelligence
Just like the tides of the ocean that ebb and flow, my life and interests experience similar movements. I am a curious, thoughtful, and engaged individual. I love being in nature or near the sea. From a young age, I started traveling to various destinations with my family. In fact, I’ve visited 15 countries so far. My curiosity while traveling has led me to discover new cultures, landscapes, and culinary arts. And yes, I’m also a true foodie!
In my professional and academic life, my appetite for research and a variety ofprojects has allowed me to delve into subjects that are close to my heart andtake on fulfilling roles. In 2015, I worked at Fox Harb’r, a five-star resortin Nova Scotia. During my studies, I worked as a research assistant on various projects related to the Acadian diaspora, innovation, and international commerce in rural Acadie of Nova Scotia. Through different research projects, I explored significant issues facing French-speaking immigrants in the healthcare system and explored social enterprises. After my undergraduate studies, I held the position of Communications Officer for the New Brunswick Arts Council. Another experience that highlighted and celebrated artists and artisans from this province, both for locals and visitors alike. Lastly, my most recent position was as a Sustainable Development Advisor for small and medium-sized businesses. My interest in entrepreneurship and my participation in the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (2021) are the driving forces behind my commitment and desire to work for greater justice and balance.
Through these involvements, I’ve discovered the benefits of the experience individuals can have and my fascination with understanding and exploring lived experiences of others. That’s why my master’s thesis focused on exploring what motivates international students to become entrepreneurs in New Brunswick, considering their experiences in both Canada and their home countries.
Being open and inquisitive about others enriches me. Through their experiences, life stories, and journeys, I have discovered myself, and by listening to and supporting them, I have developed skills that will serve me well at TouriScope. From my seaside perch, I am now diving into the world of tourism and collaborating on projects with equally committed and passionate individuals.
