CONTEXT

The Receptive Tour Operators and Travel Agencies Association of Quebec (ARF-Québec) brings together more than 80 receptives and tour operators specializing in Quebec who also operate throughout Canada and North America, as well as many tourism partners. One of the association's business priorities is to demonstrate the impact of the Quebec distribution network on the economic and tourism development of Quebec and Canada. In addition, it is committed to supporting its members by participating in the development of innovative products. To do this, it wants to focus on creating and transferring strategic knowledge to its members and partners.

APPROACH

TouriScope has brought its expertise in the context of several mandates:

- Conference on the sustainable and eco-responsible tourism market at an annual conference
- Conference on 2018 survey data conducted with members of the association and tour operators, wholesalers and receptive agencies from outside Quebec
- Strategic monitoring of current events and trends in the distribution network during the COVID-19 crisis
- Survey of ARF-Québec members to measure the financial impact of the COVID-19 crisis on their activities- Collecting 2019 data from Canadian receptive agencies and tour operators.

RESULTS

TouriScope's work has enabled ARF-Québec to:

- Raise awareness among its members on the opportunities of sustainable tourism as a driver of economic development
- Demonstrate the value of the incoming and outgoing agencies sector on the Quebec and Canadian tourism scene through relevant indicators
- Measure the impacts of Covid-19 on its members' activities in order to support its requests to the government for relief funds
