A market study for the condo-camping concept in Quebec

CONTEXTE

Westboro Mortgage Investment Corp. wants to develop a vacation complex concept on 1,400 acres of land in the Gorges de la Coulonge in the Outaouais region. The camp-condominium concept they are considering is well established in the United States, but remains a business model that is not very present in Quebec to date. This is why investors sought the services of qualified consultants familiar with the camping and tourism sector in order to estimate the size of the potential buyer market for their sites.

APPROCHE

In order to measure the level of interest in this innovative concept, Touriscope has:

- Conducted a survey with a sample of nearly 700 respondents composed of RV campers living within a radius of 120km
- Conducted interviews with key players in camping in Ontario and Quebec
- Presented a portrait of the competitive context and business environment, including similar examples and challenges to overcome

RESULTS

This approach confirmed the project's market opportunity. It made it possible to accurately assess the potential pool of buyers and their demographic profile in order to formulate significant strategic recommendations. The trust of partners and investors has thus been strengthened and decision-making facilitated.
